BBQ Grill Pork Rib Cooking
Instructions
Begin with a fresh, high
quality rack of pork ribs.
Purchase no more than 2 days
before cooking, and do not
freeze. Rinse with
cool water.
The night before cooking
your pork ribs, apply the
BBQ rib rub below and leave
in the refrigerator
overnight.
Country BBQ Rib Rub (see
more
dry
rib rubs here)
Mix all ingredients together
thoroughly and apply an even
coat of the BBQ dry rub to
room temperature pork ribs.
Country BBQ Sauce
Combine all wet
ingredients in a saucepan
over medium heat. Combine
all dry ingredients in a
medium bowl, mixing well.
Once mixed well, add dry
ingredients to the wet
ingredients in the saucepan
and bring to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for
15 minutes.
Cooking your BBQ Pork
Ribs
Start your BBQ grill or
smoker, building the heat
source on one side of the
grill, and using your
preferred wood for that
unique smoked flavor.
When the grill is about 200
degrees Fahrenheit, place
the ribs on the grill, in a
place where they are not
directly over the fire or
firebox.
BBQ
smoke your pork ribs for
about one hour. Turn
ribs meat side up and spray
with apple juice about every
twenty minutes. As the
pork cooks, the ribs will
change in texture: the
meat will first tighten and
then loosen.
Use a meat thermometer to be
sure and reach the required
safety temperature for
cooking pork: 170 degrees
Fahrenheit.
Cook your ribs for about 4
hours or more, keeping the
temperature of the grill
under 200 degrees. The
longer your ribs cook, the
more flavor they will have
so going over 4 hours can
only add to the success of
your pork ribs.
How to Know When Your Ribs
are Cooked:
When ribs are cooked, they
will bend in half when
picked up with tongs. As
said above however, feel
free to let your ribs cook
longer to increase the
smoked flavor.
Serving your pork
Ribs:
Remove ribs from the grill
and leave for 30 minutes to
cool and retain natural
juices.
Serve with the BBQ sauce
above and enjoy!
